Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery Hosts Annual Awards & Recognition Celebration
On January 21, 2020, Vanessa Behan hosted their annual awards & recognition celebration to show their appreciation to all of the volunteers, partners, supporters, and friends who have helped them keep their home base running during the 2019 season. Throughout the year, they were able to impact the lives of over 6,000 children. Philantech3 had the opportunity to join in and help ensure the event went smoothly – setting up, bussing tables, refilling water carafes, cleaning up, and overall, helping out wherever possible for this amazing organization that we truly believe in.
What Makes Vanessa Behan So Important to Philantech3?
Philantech3 knows that poverty often begins before birth within the environment that the baby is born into. Vanessa Behan aims to provide a safe place for mothers and children who are at risk for abuse and neglect – helping the most vulnerable among us. We’re committed to donating a portion of each quarter’s profits to this amazing organization as we take our philanthropy commitment seriously to help strengthen the communities we serve and what better place to start than those struggling in childhood?
A representative from Philantech3 explained, “We were proud to be able to assist with the event. It’s such an important organization to us because we know their efforts to provide a safe place for children and mothers go a long way in strengthening families, and thus, the communities around us.”
About Vanessa Behan
Vanessa Behan was founded following the tragic story of Vanessa Kay Behan, a young girl who died from child abuse injuries at the age of two. A group of local business people established the organization as a way of providing a safe place for families who need assistance with their children, including:
- Around-the-clock child care for children under the age of seven
- Education and/or training
- Crisis counseling
- Referrals to other agencies in the community
Parenting is a demanding job, and for some, addiction, mental health, abusive relationships, and other challenges can result in a much higher need for assistance. After all, it takes a village to raise a child.
